Facebook you say. The elephant in the room has been outed.
For those too busy with families and careers to spend time trolling the social networking sites, perhaps having set up a Friendster account in the dark ages of the web and thinking “this whole social networking thing blows!” and abandoned the medium, it might be time to give it another look. Possibly some of you set up MySpace accounts to see what your kids are up to these days, and ended up getting barraged with porn spam (for which I take MINIMAL responsibility), you should check out Facebook both because of the lack of porn spam (at least these days) and because it’s far easier to track down ex-girlfriends and former coworkers. Better than that, it’s easier for them to find you, which is always far more fun.
With Facebook, people can interact with whom they choose, and there’s no pressure of coming up with material on a regular basis. You can set up a WHS86 group and people can opt in. It’s easy for people to join, and it’s considerably easier to post pictures and videos.
I’ve been happy to do this for a year, but the web is always evolving and we should, too.
I’ll post a Facebook plan and we can wrap this thing up. None of this is about success or failure – it’s all in the experimentation. Just like in high school.
The site stays up. As long as WordPress is paying, I’m not taking it down. The only thing that will change is that the URL WorstAttitudesEver.com will eventually expire. (That costs a full $8 a year.) So make sure your bookmarks point to whs86.wordpress.com.
Wow! Brad just puts it all out there.

So Brad, the dialogue has begun.
Next.

Well said, Gary.
I’m feeling the pull to Facebook. It would be cool if there was a formal plan here. Or maybe a new splash page for WAE that directs folks over there.
I defer to Steve. I love this site but as Steve has mentioned before, maybe it’s time to regroup and reassess.
I was thinking the same thing.

Great suggestion.

I assume this site will be left up as a historical record, and on the off chance anybody wants to post anything, correct?
Then again, is this a free service?

Facebook. Not a bad idea. Will it limit the ability to have group discussions on innane topics of our childhood without others checking in on it?
While I am happy to trip down memory lane with you all – out and about it another thing. Does the world wish to see our musings and photos from 1972?
Then again, I suppose that is the whole allure and point to Web 2.0 – the publicness of everyday conversations.
Love to hear the plan. Perhaps I can even figure out how to post to it.
