V66: Kate Nash

kate.jpg

Wow, it’s been quiet here. Is everyone on vacation or just tired about all things Wayland? What’s that saying? “When you tire of Wayland, you tire of life.” So true! It was what, six months ago? The reunion? Maybe it’s time for another one.

In an effort to keep things moving let’s bring back some music: Kate Nash.

What’s up with the Brits? They have so much good music there. I wonder if I was raised there I would be posting about Wilco and Jack Johnson.

I heard this tune and dug it. So talented. She can really paint a picture. It’s a bit of a sad one. I do listen to upbeat music. Swear.

What is the name of the song? I liked Kate’s lyrics. For some reason, one that stuck out for me was, “We never liked him from the start and now he’s with that Tart”.
The Brits have a way with words.

The saying is “When you tire of Wayland, it means you moved there a week ago.”

That song is called “We get on.”

I’m tempted to post another tune but I’ll add it here instead…for the curious:

Hmmm … “When you tire of Wayland, you tire of life.” I once said that about Cheltenham, UK. The suicide rate there quadrupled overnight.

    to lawrence,

if you’re going to quote douglas adams at least tell people you’re doing it instead of trying to pass it off as your own idea

i hate to be a fuss pot, but i’m quite the kate nash fan myself and i don’t think the ‘we get on’ track you have on this page is kate singing? the lady singing has the same dialect but not the same tone.. i’m not sure, it might just be me, but here’s her myspace link and if you listen to the song on there they do sound quite different..

anyway, i’m glad you’ve brought other americans attentions to kate nash’s music, we can’t get enough of her in britain :)
