So having made the pilgrimage to see famed former news personality Steve Safran, I can say I’ve learned a lot. For one thing I found out that he had a wife that might or might not have been initiated into the kundalina mysteries of Pat Tally back in college. He also has three beautiful children (quote from Brad: “Damn, I didn’t even know he was capable of reproducing”). Then there is his fourth offspring who doesn’t get talked about as much. Coconut Boy. Seems like an odd name until you realize that his head is–actually and literally–a coconut.
The Safran family likes to sing songs about themselves, and with a little prompting my daughter joined in the family sing-along:
Coconut Boy, Coconut Boy
He’s his parent’s pride and joy
If his head with a machete is cut
You will taste sweet coconut
It reads weird when it is written out like that, but it was sung with great joy, laughter and good feeling.

Though the offspring of an unfortunate (if memorable), rum-soaked night between me and a tree, my wife has embraced Coconut Boy as one of her own. (As you can imagine, the birth was a bitch.)
She does not feel the same way about my other illegitimate offspring, Cactus Girl.
When he gets of age, introduce him to:
CocoTap

You guys are just off in your own little world now, aren’t you?
Huh? Who said that?
